FHA gets acting managing director

An Acting Managing Director/ Chief Executive of the Federal Housing Authority has been appointed. He is Umar Gonto. The Guardian learnt that the appointment follows the expiration of the term of the Prof. Mohammed Al-Amin led Management on May 6, 2019.

Source disclosed that Gonto, being the most senior staff was given approval to act in line with the Federal Government guidelines on succession.  

Before the appointment, Gonto was the General Manager Legal/ Secretary to the Board of Directors of FHA. He attended the University of Maiduguri, where he graduated with an LLB ( Hons ) in 1986. He is a member of the Nigeria Bar association (NBA) and International Bar Association (IBA). Gonto is also a member of Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators.
