Family donates 51.3 hectare’ land to Imo State government
The family of Col. Lambert Iheanacho (rtd) has presented a 51.3 hectares of land to the Imo State Government for agriculture purposes.
The land situated at Ohaji/Egbema Council Area of the state, was acquired 30 years ago, but Col. Iheanacho felt that the Emeka Ihedioha administration could put it in good use for the overall benefit of the Imo people.
Making the presentation at Government House, Owerri, the retired Army Colonel urged the government to use the land for agricultural purposes.
He said: “Based on our passion for agriculture, we decided to donate the land to the state government. We are donating this land free of charge and with no string attached.
Responding, Governor Ihedioha applauded Col. Iheanacho and his family for the gesture.
