‘Engineering critical to national development’

The Federal Government has been advised to increase support for the engineering profession and ensure continuous production of technical personnel for Nigeria’s infrastructural development.

The Vice Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Apapa Branch, Sunny Ejeje, an engineer, who gave the advice at Triple Crown College, Ketu Lagos, noted that engineering remained a major tool for development.

According to him, if the government is interested in infrastructural development they must work to increase the number of engineers in the country and ensure availability of adequate technical personnel for growth.

Similarly, Ejeje told students of Providence Secondary School, Fagba, Lagos that engineering profession is critical to national development.

In his remark, the Principal, Providence Secondary School, Mr. Ogunkola Olarenwaju stressed that since the world is in the age of science and technology, more engineers are needed to move the nation forward.
