Dangote Cement sets aside N5 billion for marketing activities
Encourage by the performance of its distributors in 2016, which led to 11 percent growth in profit, Dangote Cement Plc has announced N5 billion budget to support the product marketing activities in 2017.
Chairman of the company, Alhaji Aliko Dangote disclosed this at an event to reward distributors nationwide in Lagos. He stressed that the budget was necessary because the business needs a lot of rejigging and innovation in order to meet with the challenges ahead.
According to him, Dangote Cement intends to make its product more visible in 2017 by creating about 40,000 retail outlets. The company, he said would also acquire more trucks for easier evacuation of products from the factories to retail outlets across the country.
In the event, which saw about 21 distributors rewarded to the tune of N2.4 billion across 11 categories, Dangote extolled the commitment of the distributors as partners in the proceeding year leading to continuous growth of the company.
According to him, it was instructive that the company rather recorded a three -digit growth rather than losing in spite of the difficult economic challenges last year.
