Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel has called on the contractor handling the Eket re-modeling project to ensure early completion of the contract.

State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, who disclosed after inspecting the road works, said government has released enough funds to ensure the completion of the projects.

The commissioner said that in the next few weeks, the ministry would visit the area again to pull down structures, which compensation were fully paid to give space for the construction work.

“We need to be on Grace Bill in the next month, to do drainage; the governor is anxious to have the phase one of the road completed”, he
said.

The commissioner further reaffirmed the governor’s commitment and sincerity at ensuring that the project was completed on time to give Eket city a new look.

At the Osiok road project which traverses Eket and Esit Eket council areas, where work has reached advanced stage, the commissioner assured that, the road would be completed soon so as to boost economic activities in the communities around it.
