In its renewed efforts to provide viable solutions to the myriad problems of confronting the housing sector, the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) has concluded arrangement to stage a two-day National Workshop on Housing As Veritable Tools For Economic Recovery.

The event will provide a forum for careful consideration of the challenges of housing deficit and affordability issues with a view to appropriating workable funding mechanism that will assist to reposition mass housing provision as veritable tools for economic recovery.

Themed “Tackling Housing Deficit And Affordability Challenge as Channel for Driving Economic Recovery”, the three-day event would draw participants from the entire housing and construction sector of the economy.

Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna State will highlight and assess inherent opportunities in mass housing provision with a view to creating and encouraging viable and sustainable investment into the housing market towards reducing and eradicating homelessness and bridging the housing deficit and shortfall in Nigeria.

Other resource persons include the Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa; Managing Director of Family Homes Funds Ltd, Mr. Femi Adewole and President, Real Estate Developers Association, Ugochukwu Chime and Head of Niger State Government Smart City Development, Prof. Mustapha Zubairu.

Other speakers include the off-takers crusader and Managing Director of Value chain Consultant Ltd, Dr. Joshua Egbagbe; Director General, Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute, Prof. Danladi Matawal, AHCH President, Mohammed Baba Adamu; Adewunmi Towolawi Okupe, Managing Director of Assured Group, Lagos and Kaduna State Commissioner of Works, Transport and Housing , Hon. (Hajia) Balaraba Aliyu among others.
