The Board of Lagos Housing Fair, the nation’s prime exhibition on the building / construction industry has confirmed that forty two organisations have so far registered to participate at the year’s event.

The event, which has as its theme, “Smart Buildings” holds between April 30 and May 4, at the Lagos Airport Hotel.

According to the organisers, the participating bodies cut across Federal and State Government agencies, research institutions, as well as private sector organisations.

The forum, as usual will provide a unique opportunity for multiple stakeholders in the industry to interact, exchange ideas and establish partnership.

The choice of the theme for this year’s event, which is the seventeenth edition, is borne out of the need to promote the ideals of functional, efficient and environment friendly buildings for human habitation.

New technologies and services in building construction and materials application and maintenance will be showcased at the edition, which is planned to host over 8,000 visitors.

Presidents and leaders of professional associations and experts are to make presentations at the various special sessions of the Fair.

The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu will declare the edition open, while the President, Nigerian – British Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Akin Olawore will preside over the closing.
