Abia State Chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has distanced itself from reports that it formed a coalition with the Dr. Alex Otti-led All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), describing the claim as a farce.

Abia State Chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has distanced itself from reports that it formed a coalition with the Dr. Alex Otti-led All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), describing the claim as a farce. The report was credited to Mike Okezie, YPP candidate for the Ikwuano/Umuahia constituency in the House of Representatives in this year’s election, while Otti is APGA’s gubernatorial candidate.

State Chairman of the party, Nwoko Uzodinma, said at a media briefing in Umuahia that there was no coalition between APGA, or any other party in the state.

“We urge all Abia citizens to disregard the media announcement. Such coalition is not necessary, our party is waxing stronger and growing in leaps and bounds in all the local government areas of the state”.“Okezie does not represent the party and cannot represent the party in such capacity and as such, we declare any private and personal activity he has done with anybody null and void,” he said.
