Former Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Ibrahim, has said that he has not conceded the senatorial ticket to Governor Ibrahim Gaidam. Ibrahim made the declaration yesterday in Damaturu while responding to an online report that he had ceded the Yobe East senatorial seat to the incumbent governor.

The former governor, who described the publication as false and misleading, insisted that direct primaries must be adopted. He said: “We will slug it out at the primary elections.”

“Free, fair and transparent direct primaries are the only way to deepen internal democracy in our great All Progressives Congress (APC).
