Police have continued to intimidate me, family, Fayose cries out

• NDCP presidential aspirant faults voting

Governor Ayodele Fayose has again raised the alarm that police have continued to intimidate him, his family and Ekiti workers, days after the governorship election.His Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said this in a statement.

The governor said the police have kept a permanent surveillance over the Government House at Ado Ekiti.He said: “They have continued to fly helicopters over the Government House and Governor’s Office in a way that compromises the safety and well-being of residents and workers.”

Fayose disclosed that the helicopters flies so low that it runs the risk of crashing into high-rise buildings and masts within the premises.The governor added: “The noise pollution that this has caused the people is also enough irritation. This brazen show of naked force and abuse of power is as ungodly as it is undemocratic.

“If the security forces belong to all Nigerians, and not to President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC), it should not be biased in this blatant manner.”Fayose said it is unprofessional of the security forces to allow themselves to be this debased, by running APC errands, even though they are funded with resources that belong to all of us.

“They are obligated by the Constitution to be apolitical and not willing tools in the hands of the powers-that-be.“Once again, I say I will not be intimidated. I will stand on my feet until every injustice is upturned and the freedom and liberties of our people are restored.

“The thief runneth when no one pursueth. They are afraid of their shadows,” he added.Meanwhile, a presidential aspirant on the platform of Nigeria Democratic Congress Party (NDCP), Dr. Johnson A. Edosomwan, has dismissed the Ekiti governorship poll as undemocratic.

Edosomwan, who is a U.S.A-based technocrat, spoke yesterday at the Muson Centre, Lagos.He said the election was marred by open financial inducement of voters before casting their votes.

While faulting the results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he said there is the need to take the country back to democracy, where people would vote according to their conscience and not by inducement.

The presidential aspirant also flayed the present security situation in the country, where greater premium have been placed on cows than human lives.He condemned the poor attitude of the Federal Government to the ongoing killings.He promised to use his vast security experience acquired from the FBI in the U.S. to resolve the deplorable security situation in the nation.

He also cited the challenges posed by the Boko Haram insurgencies and Fulani herdsmen.Edosomwan said no nation could develop in a state of insecurity, noting that the cause of the herdsmen’s attack on farmers is an agricultural problem that requires agrarian solutions.The NDCP aspirant tasked on the unity of the country, job creation, as well as electricity and infrastructure, as veritable solutions to the poverty indices in the country.
