The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has threatened to sue Senator Buruji Kashamu for conducting illegal primaries in Ogun State. Its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said this in a statement yesterday.

The party accused the lawmaker of playing out the script given to him by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilise the PDP in the state ahead of the 2019 polls.

The PDP further stated that Buruji is a desperate paid agent of anti-democratic forces, working to cause confusion, trigger violence and bloodletting in the 2019 general election to derail our hard-earned democracy.

“Buruji would soon face prosecution for printing and selling fake PDP nomination forms to members of the public, in violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act and the PDP constitution, which vest such powers only on the party’s National Working Committee. The PDP insists that its candidate in the state is Ladi Adebutu, whose name it has submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the stipulated time.

Kashamu, on the other hand, has said that the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus should be held responsible “for breach of public peace and safety should there be a breakdown of law and order in Ogun State.”
