Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, yesterday, raised alarm over threats to his life by faceless and anonymous callers.

Jibrin, who disclosed that he is recovering from a stroke attack after discharge from hospital in Kaduna, explained that even while on admission in the hospital, he received series of threats from unknown callers, apparently to complicate his health condition.

In a statement, yesterday, the BoT chairman expressed deep worry why he should be bombarded with threats to his life through phone calls and text messages.

He disclosed that the matter has been reported to the security agencies, but noted that; “such messages, which were recorded, serve as further threat to my recovery.”

Although he disclosed that the messages claimed to be from reputable editors of media houses, the evidence of threats have been appropriately submitted to security agencies and the editors that were mentioned, as well as the communication outfits.

“Myself being a former journalist who served at the Nigerian Broadcasting Service, Lagos, under Christopher Kolade and later transferred to Maiduguri, I am appealing to people to stop spoiling the name of our reputable editors, by practicing journalism of thorough investigation and stop using threats and names of our respected editors,” he stated.
