Kwankwaso loyalists shun Kano APC delegates’ congress
Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso boycotted the state delegates’ congress held yesterday, in Kano.
Party delegates from the 44 local governments converged at the Sani Abacha Indoor Sport Hall to elect state party executives.
The congress attracted over 2,820 delegates from 880 wards. All the 14 aspirants contested unopposed.
Addressing the congress, the lead presiding officer from the national Secretariat of the party, Prince Nwafor Orizu, said the congress was meant to fill vacant positions after some executive members resigned.
He pledged to deliver a transparent, fair and balance primary in line with APC rules and regulations.
Efforts to get members of the kwankwasiyya group to comment on why they shuned the congress were not successful.
