…INEC to disclose final decision on Monday
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that it would take a final decision on the outcome of the Zamfara State Governorship, House of Assembly and National Assembly elections on Monday, following yesterday’s judgment of the Supreme Court that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) did not hold valid primaries for the positions and so did not legally field candidates in the elections in the state.
A statement signed by Festus Okoye, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, in Abuja, yesterday, said the Commission held an emergency meeting following the apex court’s ruling and would meet again today to further deliberate on the issues arising from the judgment, while the final decision on the matter would be communicated to the public on Monday, May 27.
