I have not anointed any candidate, Ajimobi declares

•Ortom installs 10 first class monarchs in Benue
Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has declared that he has not anointed any candidate as his preferred successor.

He made the clarification while receiving a delegation of leaders and elders of the party from across the five zones of the state.

They had paid him a solidarity visit after what they called a successful local council poll.

Ajimobi said he would prefer his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to take decision at the appropriate time.

Some of the elders on the visit included Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Samuel Adekola, Timothy, Samuel Laoye, Adediji Adekola, and Olaide Abas.

Others were Lasisi Ayankojo, Solomon AKindele, Bashir Ajibade, Lekan Adeyemo, and Prof. Adepeju Esan.

Ajimobi disclosed that he was willing to forgive the party members who had offended him.

According to him: “Politics is always full of disagreements and mischiefs. It is also full of misunderstandings, but we must be humble in victory. You must call others who may disagree with you and let them work with you.

“I call on those aggrieved to come back and let’s resolve to move the party forward. I have a large heart and I don’t think evil about anyone. This has been the secret of my successes.”

Ajimobi also inaugurated 68 newly elected council chairmen who won at the just concluded local government election in the state.

The Chief Justice of the state, Munta Abimbola, administered the oath office on the chairmen at the House of Chiefs Secretariat, Ibadan, the state capital.

Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has installed 10 new first class monarchs in the state.

Six of the monarchs were from the Tiv speaking ruling area, three from Idoma, and one from Igede extractions.

Those crowned were the Tor Sankera, Abu King Shuluwa, Tor Kwande, Ambrose Pine Iortyer, Tor Jechira, Clement K. Ugandan, Tor Jemgbah, David Afaityo, and Tor Lobi, Moses Anagende.
