The Kogi Dtate Deputy Governor Mr. Simon Achuba, has cleared his boss Governor Yahaya Bello, of the allegations that he was behind the recalled process of senator Dino Melaye, initiated by his constituency.

The Achuba told journalists in Yola yesterday that the allegations of the governor sponsoring the recall of senator Melaye was fabricated by mischievous people to divert attention from the main issue.

“The governor has no hand in senator Melaye’s recall process, the senator should face Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over his political tragedy and leave the governor alone,” he stated.

On why the governor is having problems with some politicians in Kogi State, Achuba said that the fight against corruption and demand for transparency and accountability by the present administration was responsible for the outcry against the governor.

“My boss (Bello) is a man that believe in transparency and accountability and Some government officials in corroboration with some politicians think that government house us a place to share free money, so they are not happy because this government has change that undemocratic system of share-ring public funds that is meant for development,” he said.

The deputy governor said that the people of Kogi state are happy with the development going on in the state and that those complaining are those that want the governor to share public funds to them.

He urged the people of Kogi state to come together and join hands with governor Bello’s administration and move the state forward in the interest of the youth and the generation yet unborn.
