Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has invoked God’s judgment on politicians planning violence before, during and after the July 14 governorship poll in the state.Fayose said the state deserves to have peace. “Anybody who attempts to manipulate this election will come under the judgment of God.

“We hand Ekiti over to God and we pray that anybody, including myself and any other politician, who bring violence to this state would face the judgment of God,” he declared.Fayose spoke at the palace of the Ewi of Ado, Oba Rufus Aladesanmi Adejugbe. He also presented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, and his 39-year old deputy, Kazeem Ayodeji Ogunsakin, to the monarch.

The governor explained that he is supporting Ogunsakin from Ado Ekiti because they gave him the largest votes in 2014, and also representing the Muslim community in the state. He said: “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have supported Ogunsakin, but for the fact that he performed admirably well as Chairman of Ado Local Government Area.

“Also, he served well as Head of Due Process in my cabinet, and also a candidate who represents the interest of the hitherto neglected Muslim community in Ekiti.”He added that most importantly, his choice is to actualise the dream of the youths who have been clamouring for concrete and active representation in government.

Fayose expressed confidence that the PDP candidates would get the overwhelming support of the people of Ado Ekiti.Ogunsakin hails from Ado Ekiti, while Olusola hails from Ikere-Ekiti, being the second largest in population to Ado Ekiti. His words: “If you look at the impact that we have made in this palace, you would know that the people would forever remember us for the giants strides.

“Continuity is good for the state, and for a professor who has made great impact in education, they are a perfect combination to continue our good works and even do better.”The Ewi of Ado thanked Fayose for the many capital projects that he constructed to beautify the capital city and described him as uncommon man, adding that he had always pray to God to make his children have the kind of fortune that heavens had bestowed on Fayose.
