Bello dumps deputy, picks Chief of Staff as running mate

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello may have finally dumped his Deputy, Chief Simon Achuba, and allegedly picked his Chief of Staff, Mr. Edward Onoja, as running mate for the November 2019 governorship election.

The Guardian learnt yesterday that his decision to pick his Chief Staff is to ensure absolute loyalty, as there appears to be a cold war between him and his deputy.However, in his reaction, Director-General, Media and Publicity to Governor Yahaya Bello, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, said the governor would announce his running mate after the primary election.
