The federal lawmaker, who spoke with newsmen during this year’s Udi-Uroko festival at the Ewi’s palace in Ado-Ekiti at the weekend, said the counsel followed the ordeal of the party in the recent past.

Kehinde Agboola, has counselled the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be careful in its moves to reconcile with former factional leader, Senator Ali Modu Sherif and his loyalists.

The member representing Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency 1 of Ekiti State in the House of Representatives, Kehinde Agboola, has counselled the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be careful in its moves to reconcile with former factional leader, Senator Ali Modu Sherif and his loyalists.

The federal lawmaker, who spoke with newsmen during this year’s Udi-Uroko festival at the Ewi’s palace in Ado-Ekiti at the weekend, said the counsel followed the ordeal of the party in the recent past.

He claimed that Sheriff and his supporters, had through their actions, never wanted the PDP to survive, but only came out of the crisis unscathed by divine means.

Agboola recalled that the aggrieved members deployed unsuccessfully the judiciary to stagnate the party, stressing that they can only stay in ‘quarantine’ in PDP.

He likened their action to a wicked mother who was bent on killing her only child but miraculously survived, adding that it would be foolhardy to take such child near the murderous mother again.

His words: “ I don’t think there is fresh crisis in the PDP. The fact is that there are some people who wanted the Ahmed Makarfi-led leadership to succeed during the turbulent time. You can’t kill what you like.

“Some of us have been in the background praying that Makarfi should win at the court unlike others who repeatedly deployed the judiciary to hound the party.”
