Bayelsa Guber: Okoko camp appoints two-time PDP chairman as DG
Ahead the November 2019 Bayelsa gubernatorial election, a two-time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Darius Obiene has emerged Director General of Mr. Keniebi Okoko’s Campaign Organisation.
Obiene, the first head of any campaign organisation in the build-up to the contest, told our correspondent, yesterday, that his priority was to ensure that Okoko, a businessmen, philanthropist and cleric, is returned as the governorship candidate of PDP in August.
He said apart from the excellent qualities of the governorship hopeful, the dynamics of power rotation also favours the aspirant, whose business spans oil and gas, dredging and construction.
“He is a dedicated and patriotic Bayelsan and he is in a class of his own. He will methodically go about solving our problems one after the other,” he said.The aspirant is the son of Professor Kimse Okoko, former Pro-Chancellor, University of Uyo and ex-National President, Ijaw National Congress (INC).
