The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, has assured the people of the state of better days ahead if elected as governor. He also promised that an ADC administration would evolve a workable mechanism towards stimulating sectoral economic activities, with a view to creating sustainable jobs for the unemployed youths across the state.

Akinbade made the promises at Ede while addressing a crowd of supporters and admirers of the ADC from Ejigbo, Egbedore, Ede North and South local governments who attended his campaign rally at Ojude Timi in the town.

“I want to assure you that Osun State will be better off by the time we take over as from November this year. The ADC administration in the state will stimulate economic activities, laced with related growth, in all sectors to create job opportunities and wealth.
“Development of infrastructure will be extended to all towns and villages in the state as local government administration will be allowed to perform their statutory responsibilities,” he maintained.

Earlier, former governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who craved support for Akinbade to win the Saturday’s election, said the ADC candidate stood out among other contenders.“I want to reiterate that Akinbade is the best among those currently angling for the seat of the governor in Osun. He has the experience to salvage the state from its present predicament. Besides, he is a grassroots politician who is widely acceptable across the state” he stressed.

Oyinlola noted that with the myriad of problems confronting the state, especially in the areas of education, health, agriculture, infrastructure and the civil service, among others, Akinbade is capable of revamping the situation due to his experience in government.

The former governor, accompanied by other leaders of the party, visited the palaces of Alawo of Awo, Oba Musa Olatubosun and Timi of Ede, Oba Muniru Adesola Lawal for royal blessings. The royal fathers prayed for a peaceful and crisis-free election and the success of Akinbade and his running mate at the poll.
