Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) Chairman, Plateau State, Nanyah Andrew Daman, has urged Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo to call the Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong to order, before he plunges the state into pandemonium and full blown crisis due to crass impunity, imposition and total disregard for constitutionalism by selecting management committees in the 17 LGCs of the state instead of conducting local government elections like other governors.

Speaking at the Plateau ADP secretariat yesterday, Daman frowned at the number of illegalities Lalong has enmeshed himself in since assumption of office, including flagrant abuse of office, the dissolution of elected council Chairmen, refusal to pay LGC Staff their 26 months salary arrears despite biometric clearance and persistent appeal by elders and stakeholders of the state.

He also accused him of nepotism and lopsidedness in appointments and awards of contracts to government officials, friends, relatives and cronies, meddling in the affairs of the Plateau State House of Assembly and the Judiciary by conniving with judicial staff to delay justice. He called on Osibanjo to intervene before it snowballs into major crisis.
