The Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate in Osun, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, has pledged to make the ancient city of Ile-Ife a tourism headquarters of the south west region.

At the party’s mega rally held in Ile-Ife at the weekend, Adeoti said tourism, if properly harnessed, had the capacity to create over 200,000 decent jobs for residents of the state. He condemned what he termed recent fire brigade approach to recruitment into the Osun Youth Employment Scheme (OYES), describing it as a political deceit by the ruling party. He called on all applicants not to be deceived and should vote for ADP.

“I understand your pains and that of the retired and serving civil servants, and promise to ensure that every stakeholder in the Osun project gets adequate attention.”
Adeoti promised that the Ile-Ife township roads would be given adequate attention in line with his vision to make the town a tourism hub in the region.

He also pledged to rehabilitate the Modakeke township roads, as well as the Sekona-Edunabon-Moro-Ife road for easy access. All the higher institutions in Ifeland are to receive soft help as they are revenue- generating organizations.

In his speech, Adeoti’s running mate,Prof. Adeolu Durotoye, described the recent medical outreach organized by the candidate of the ruling party as an attestation of the administration’s failure in the health sector and many other areas of governance, urging the electorate to ignore their late minute attempt to buy their votes by decoy.

He assured the populace that the ADP administration, when it came on boar,d would engage local contractors in the execution of projects and create a template for the circulation of wealth within the state. In his address, Oluomo Sunday Akere urged the electorate to ignore the rumour that ADP was working for a political party, saying the party was “the best brand of progressive politics and it is not working for either PDP or APC.”
