Frank wondered why El-Rufai went out of his way to claim that there is a core “Buharist’s group” within the APC, even when he knew that Buhari enjoyed the mandate of majority of the electorate.

Embattled deputy national publicity secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has urged President Buhari to be wary of the antics of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

In a statement, yesterday, Frank wondered why El-Rufai went out of his way to claim that there is a core “Buharist’s group” within the APC, even when he knew that Buhari enjoyed the mandate of majority of the electorate.

He accused El-Rufai of positioning himself to succeed Buhari ahead of 2019, adding: “Buhari is a man of the people. The President knows people who are truly his own and when people are talking of loyalty, El-Rufai should keep quite because he is not known to be one. A serial betrayer like this governor has no record of loyalty to anybody.

“When Nigerians were busy praying for safe return of Mr. President from his medical leave to London some months back, it was alleged that the likes of El-Rufai were busy scheming how to become Vice President.”

The APC chieftain noted that El-Rufai is fond of “singing sycophantic praises of whoever is in government. He did it to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and later abandoned him. He did it to Atiku, who brought him to limelight, then turned him to enemy. He has even repeated this same act against President Buhari.”

Noting that El-Rufai once said Buhari would never become President, Frank maintained that there is likelihood he will do it again once Buhari leaves government.
