Sir: I want to wish my senior colleague, Prof. Tunde Ajiboye, happy retired life. He had to retire from University of Ilorin after clocking 70, February 2019.

Not knowing the exact date, I got to his door and the name was no longer there. That is life. When I was expressing sentiments, he reminded me, “there is time for everything in life.”

Another friend, Musibau, told me when I was departing Abeokuta in 1972: “Twenty children cannot play together for twenty years”. I congratulate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

When the outgoing Governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi was stepping on the toes of workers, students, marketers and so on, he did not remember that Ìgbà lonígbà á kà (every incumbent will account for his or her time).

When Ajimobi was stepping on the toes of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and the latter was tackling him, some people said the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, should intervene.

I said the Alaafin must not and he did not. The Olubadan was equal to the task and I could not see Ajimobi to listening to reason and propriety.

Our traditional rulers should not compromise on preserving the noble aspects of African culture, including African Traditional Religion (ATR) that is peaceful, joyful and protective of morality, only to be promoting exploitative/bloody religions.

My late friend, Ayinla Adegoke (aka Adegator) sang: Lórí rẹ kọ́ lorò ó pin sí, kò bàjẹ́ lorí àgbà, lórí rẹ kọ́ lorò ó pin ṣí (tradition will not end with you; it did not get spoilt in the time of our forebears; the tradition will not end with you).

The more Christianity and Islam spread in Nigeria, the more inhumanity of human beings to human beings grow and spread, only for people without conscience or knowledge to be attributing money-making ritual murders to ATR priests, with particular reference to Babalawo whose time-honored function is to help perplexed persons, while some Christian and Islamic spiritualists know what they do with corpses and human parts. I congratulate the people of Oyo State for ridding themselves of a political party (the All Progressives Congress, APC) that has committed more killings and economic annihilation of Nigeria in four years than in the sixteen years of the PDP.

Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu is playing the role of Prof. Maurice Iwu, declaring elections as inconclusive and changing election date because it was not going to favour General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) and the APC.

The rain of shame of GMB and the APC is in the cloud. But if, wherever and whenever the PDP regains power, it must correct the mistakes of the past and fix a truly independent electoral commission, rather than using someone like Prof. Attahiru Jega to distract Nigerians from what they wanted: a truly independent electoral commission. That is not to justify the APC, since whatever people sow, they reap sooner or later.
