Remove fixed charge on meters

SIR: Your piece on the increase in electricity tariff captures the thoughts of long suffering Nigerians. The fixed charge paid by consumers is a reward for incompetence. To further fleece consumers, the fixed charge is VAT-rated. The fixed charge MUST be removed. Consumers should pay for energy consumed. The unit of energy should be reviewed upwards or downwards depending on the cost of gas supply.

What is the guarantee that electricity supply to household will improve after six months?  Dr. Sam Amadi, the NERC is on the verge of failing Nigerians yet again.
