President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday has Iftar dinner (a fast-breaking meal) in Makkah, as part of a daily ritual during Ramadan, in company of Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State and Emir of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Tambari.

During the event, President Buhari expressed sadness over the loss of lives and destruction of property in the state following attacks by bandits.

Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this in a statement made available to newsmen, adding that the President expressed determination to ensure that justice prevails and Nigerians find peace and prosperity wherever they lived.

Tambari led prayers for the repose of the souls of victims of violent attacks in Zamfara and Nigeria and for God to help the country achieve total peace and stability.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Justice Isa Dodo (rtd.) and some personal aides accompanied President Buhari at the event.
