Yuguda handed over all government vehicles, says Media Team
The Media Team of the immediate-past governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda, has expressed concern over a publication that the new state government recovered 11 cars from the immediate-past governor’s wife.
In a statement issued by the team leader, Mr Jeff Kachikwu in Abuja on Sunday, the team explained that the cars in question were allocated to the immediate-past governor and his official aides during his time in office, not to any of his wives.
It stressed that the cars were voluntarily handed over to the appropriate authority within a week after handing over ceremony by Yuguda.
“It therefore left much to be desired when the new administration in the state was alleging that Yuguda’s wives were ever in possession of the said cars.
“How can she use government vehicles after leaving the office as the First Lady when she was not even a government official while in office?
“The truth is that the cars were being used by government officials who were entitled to the cars during the former governor’s time in office not to any of his wives.
“All the cars were duly handed over shortly after the hand-over date,’’ the media team said in the statement.

I guess the issue had been blown out of proportion by those who love to sow seed of discord between the pair. However, if there are any cases of financial recklessness allegedly committed by the immediate past administration of Governor Isa Yuguda, we urge the new government on board to pursue such vehemently with substantial evidence before an appropriate court instead of trading words, which most of the times are just baseless, full of lies and backstabbing. I am not saying the past administration is righteous, but I think the ideal application to justifying whatever claims leveled against one another is to hinge such on verifiable facts, rather than trying to make catchy headlines.
We will review and take appropriate action.
