Yoruba youth groups, under the aegis of Youths Congress (YYC), has cautioned a former minister for Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, not to attempt to speak for the Yoruba people on the 2019 election.

The group said Fani-Kayode, who is also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has no right to predict or speak on what the Southwest people will or not do in 2019.

This was sequel to a television programme on Wednesday where Fani-Kayode was quoted to have said the people of the Southwest were tired of Buhari/Osinbajo and would reject them in 2019.

At a press conference in Akure yesterday, the National President of YYC, Prince Dapo Adepoju, described Fani-Kayode’s statement as an assault on the person of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Adepoju noted that the statement came to them as a shock, declaring that any decision to reject or accept the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was the exclusive right of the electorate.

He stated that the group was not campaigning for any political party, but that it was illogical for Fani-Kayode to speak ill of Buhari and Osinbajo.
