Yobe governor donates N200m to complete barrack
Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State has donated N200m to complete the construction of a military barracks in Damaturu, the state capital.
Gaidam made the announcement at the weekend in Damaturu, while inspecting the proposed new Army barrack along Potiskum Road.
He said the state government’s contributions to the completion of barracks, was to complement Federal Government’s efforts in securing lives and property in the state.
He said: “The military continues to make sacrifices on our behalf. Soldiers in the frontlines of Northeast region are risking their lives to keep us safe and protect the lives and property of our people. We must do everything to support them and keep them happy, including their family members, who are not with the troops.”
He said the state government has provided and would continue to provide various support to the military and other security agencies.
