We’re partners in progress, labour tells Kaduna State government
Chairmen of both the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Kaduna State have said that they were not enemies of the state government, but partners in progress.
Speaking at the May Day celebration in the state, the NLC chairman, Ayuba Suleiman, expressed the workers’ gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for assenting to the N30,000 minimum wage.
He called on northern governors to intervene in the lingering crisis in the New Nigerian Newspapers Limited, considering its importance to the northern region and country at large.
On the issue of disengaged civil servants, Suleiman appealed to Governor Nasir el-Rufai to re-visit their cases with the view to reinstating those that could still be productive.
“We are also appealing for the benefits of those that cannot be re-absorbed without further delay,” he added.
