Minister of Communication Technology, Adebayo Shittu, says the Federal Government has not made much progress in it firm by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) due to ongoing inquiry by the National Assembly.

Fielding questions from reporters yesterday in Abuja, Shittu observed that whatever would be done on the issue will invariably be subject to outcome of this investigation by the National Assembly.

“I was at a platform at the National Assembly. The real process to my mind is the fact that NASS, particularly the House of Representatives, is investigating this matter. Those of us expected to make comments decided to withhold our comments because we know that whatever we do will invariably be subject to outcome of this investigation by NASS and so for me, that is the reason why we have not yet made greater progress and as you would have seen yesterday the process of legislative investigation is still ongoing and once it is concluded, I hope positively that we get things going and I think the matter will be put behind us,” the minister added.
