Varsity seeks TETFund’s intervention for private institutions to improve research

The Samuel Adegboyega University, Edo State has urged the Tertiary Education Fund (TETFund) to extend its intervention programmes to private learning institutions for research to enhance the nation’s economy.

The vice-chancellor, Prof. Ben Aigbokhan, who made the appeal at the ivory tower’s fourth convocation during the weekend, stated that eight students bagged first-class honours.

He added that 79 graduated with 30 clinching second-class upper degrees, 35 for second-class lower degrees, and six with going home with third class degrees.

Aigbokhan, who restated the institution’s zero tolerance for cultism and other social vices, decried the inability of private institutions to access TETFund for development-related studies.

According to him, the outcome of the research findings would be of immense benefit to the country if private universities were included in the TETFund intervention programmes of the Federal Government.
