The Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, yesterday, called for partnership between Nigerian universities and the private sector.

Adeduntan made the call during the 2019 edition of First Bank/University of Ibadan (UI) Career Fair at the institution’s International Conference Centre. The career fair, themed: ‘The Entrepreneurial Mindset and the Future of the Work’, is an event in which organisations spanning diverse industries and sectors are given opportunity to engage exceptionally talented final year students of the university.

He urged the participants to acquire the right capabilities and strength, through continuous capacity enhancement, as it is central to survival. He noted that innovation and creativity are central to economic development.

He added that intelligent quotient and emotional intelligence are critical to being successful as entrepreneurs or employees.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, of the university, Prof. (Mrs.) Olanike Adeyemo urged the students to prepare for the future and reinvent themselves.

“The future belongs to those who constantly reinvent themselves. It is all about reinventing yourself. Nobody will hand over power to those not prepared.”
