UWC sponsors over 24 Nigerians in foreign institutions
The United World Colleges (UWC), towards achieving a global standard of education in youths, has disbursed scholarships to over 24 young Nigerians to study in different institutions across the world.
UWC, founded in 1962 based on the ideas of German educationalist Kurt Hahn during the heat of the cold war, is a movement that aims at bringing together young people across the world to be champions of peace in the society.
The Executive Secretary of the committee, Mrs. Yvonne Ebbi, said the movement, which is about 54 years old, and has helped to scale the hurdles of race, religion, and culture and to improve unity and promote peace among youths in the world, has produced a host of graduates, and successful individuals both in Nigeria and in the diaspora.
