Use me – Part 2

Memory Verse:  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.  1 John 3:3.

Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 6:15-20.

Introduction
Sin defiles and pollutes. Decay, disgrace, disease, destruction and death are the well-known direct consequences of sin. The soul that sins will die. Sin can be dealt with rather swiftly or can be left to run its full traumatic, tragic and destructive course. It largely depends on the sinner’s willingness to obey God. We always have a choice to confess, repent and forsake, even the slightest appearance of sin or decide to haughtily resist the leading of the Holy Spirit and the warning of God, 1 Pet.1:2-7; Acts 9:15-16. No one can accurately predict the full consequences of even the “smallest” sin.

Purity
A vessel is either pure or impure. There are no shades of grey here. That is why the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin. God is irrevocably committed to your full redemption from the strangulating stronghold of sin and its fatal outcome. We only need to cooperate with Him.

Remember that He also has billions of options. He can replace vessels at will and at His pleasure. It is a great privilege to be used by God. His chosen vessels team up with other saints and with Jesus Christ. No impure person will be allowed into the team to avoid contamination. Wilful sinners will, of course, be replaced, 1 Cor.3:9, 16-17; Dan.5:2; Eph.2:13, 18, 22; Heb.3:12-14; 2 Cor.4:6-7; Rom.7:21-24.

You Can
You can be pure and clean and be met for the Master’s use. Yes you can sustain the purity. However, there is always a price and you need to carefully consider the cost. Changing your mind mid-way or going back is worse than not starting at all in the first place. Do not even look back.
• Study the word, memorise and obey.
• Love not the world.
• Be careful of your old friends.
• Beware of pride, rebellion, envy, strife, railings, disputing, ungodliness and uncontrollable desire for wealth. Ps.119:9-10; Isa.52:11; Jer.15:19; 1 Tim.6:3-11.

Conclusion
Watch and pray. Do not stain your garments. If you fall, get up, go back to the Lord, repent and get rid of the sources of temptation, 1 Cor.10:12; 1 Cor.6:18; Mal.3:3. Stepping out for God attracts the attention of the forces of darkness.

You will, therefore, need to keep your head above waters at all time. You will get rid of every spot and wrinkle by His grace in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!
