PRESIDENT Muhamadu Buhari has been lauded for appointing Pastor Usani Uguru Usani as the Minister of Niger Delta ministry and the most suitable person to address youth restiveness and reposition the zone into mainstream politics.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja yesterday shortly after the President had inaugurated and assigned the new ministers to their respective ministries, Senator Musa Adede said: “The President has again demonstrated that the five months wait was afterall not in vain. It goes to show that he was meticulously striving to put square pegs in square holes as can be seen in the choice of ministerial portfolios.

He described the new Niger Delta Minister as a go-getter who will turn around the fortunes of the ministry for good: “Usani is a thoroughbred technocrat who left a track record as former commissioner during the military regime in Cross River State. He is highly experienced bridge builder and has the intellectual capacity to mobilize a team that will help him set and achieve a well-grounded agenda of change for the Niger Delta area.”

Adede called on all Niger Delta stakeholders to shun partisanship and quickly rally round the new minister and provide him the necessary support and credible advice. He noted that “the time for people to begin to lay emphasize on where the Minister comes from and which party he belongs is in the past, all we need now is to mobilize and support our new Minister to succeed in his present assignment.”

On Niger Delta restiveness, Adede noted that “apart from his spiritual background as Pastor, he has the milk of human kindness and will do everything possible within his capacity to encourage every youth in the Niger Delta region to embrace peace and support the federal government change agenda.”
