AS Nigerians await the announcement of ministerial nominees, a group, Urhobo Youths Consultative Forum (UYCF) in Delta State, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint an Urhobo person as Petroleum Minister.

In a statement yesterday in Warri, the National President, Achoja Blessing and the Secretary, Bernard, demanded that Urhobo sons and daughters should be given prominent positions in the Buhari’s administration. While calling on Buhari to use his pragmatic leadership to do the needful as the Urhobos contribute so much to the nation’s wealth from the Niger Delta Region, the youth leaders said that their kinsmen have been short changed and marginalised in federal appointments.

Achoja and Blessing noted that so many prominent Urhobo persons have over the years demonstrated true spirit of supports and leadership by contributing their quota to the general advancement of not only the Urhobo nation, but also the nation at large.

The UYCF leaders pointed out that many Urhobo politicians who are staunch members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) played key roles during the last presidential election.
