The Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, Professor Benjamin Ozumba, has announced that the institution would soon take over Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company, (ANAMCO), with a view to commencing the manufacturing of tractors in collaboration with some foreign countries.

The exercise which he tagged ‘tractorization programme’, according to him, would be producing no fewer than 500 tractors yearly for the whole country.

Professor Ozumba who was speaking during a visit by a group of Nsukka Opinion Moulders comprising eminent sons and daughters of Nsukka town including traditional rulers, stated that the development will lead to the industrialization of the town and Enugu state in general, adding that it will take care of employment and other needs of the people of the town.

He also announced that a science park will be established in the university and experts from Sweden were already in the country to rub minds with officials of the university and expressed happiness with the visit of the people of Nsukka to acquaint them with what is happening in the campus.

He commended the people of Nsukka for their steadfastness and support for his administration and assured that he will do his best towards improving the university and making it one of the best in the world.

The leader of the group, Igwe Spencer Ugwoke, the traditional ruler of Obimo community, in his speech, commended the VC for the developmental projects going on in the university and assured the support of the people of Nsukka to his administration. He recalled the glowing achievements of some of his predecessors and noted that the group had to come to show solidarity.
