UNICEF partners Bauchi to save malnourished kids

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is to partner the Bauchi State Government to fight severe acute malnutrition in under-five children through the provision of Ready-To-Use-Therapeutic-Foods (RUTF).

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is to partner the Bauchi State Government to fight severe acute malnutrition in under-five children through the provision of Ready-To-Use-Therapeutic-Foods (RUTF).

Chief of Field Office in Bauchi, Bhanu Pathak, said UNICEF has set aside N270 million for the supply of RUTF commodities for treatment of malnourished children in the state.

He appealed for counterpart funding from the government to save the malnourished children in the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed has resolved to partner with UNICEF and other development partners to effectively tackle the situation in Bauchi.

He assured UNICEF of the speedy release of counterpart funding to tackle malnutrition among under-five children, which he said, has claimed the lives of many children in the state.
