UNICAL introduces carnival studies, six new courses
Seven courses have been introduced at the University of Calabar. They include Carnival Studies, Tourism, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Mass Communication.
A statement by the Chairman, Cross River State Community in UNICAL, Dr. Raphael Offiong, said the centre would be of immense benefit to the state, as it would advance its yearly carnival, which attracts thousands of tourists in December.
The group noted that the introduction of the courses was a clear indication that the vice chancellor, Prof. Zana Akpagu, is very sensitive to the yearnings of the people.
The association urged Akpagu to continue to improve on students’ welfare while sustaining the developmental legacy set by his predecessor, Prof. James Epoke.
