UNIBEN gets more admission slots, matriculates 11,772
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has expanded the admission quota of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) to enable more candidates gain entrance into the tertiary institution.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, made the disclosure during the school’s 2018/2019 matriculation where it admitted 11,772 students in Benin City.
He said the accreditation of more courses in the university would open space for more candidates to pick the ivory tower as a preferred choice.
According to Orumwense, 75,000 applications were received while 11,772 provisional admissions were granted.
He cautioned the new intakes against cultism, prostitution, malpractices and other vices, encouraging them instead to make good use of the facilities provided by the citadel of learning.
