Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has warned perpetrators and sponsors of acts likely to cause breakdown of law and order to show restraint or face the full weight of the law.

The governor gave the warning while inaugurating members of the Commission of Inquiry into the recent civil disturbances in Okworjo-Ngwo Community in Udi Local Council of the state, which caused the death of the Executive Secretary of the State Committee on creation of Adada State, Late Ejimofor Ozongwu.

He noted that the constitution of the commission was in consonance with the policy of his administration to vigorously promote security and rule of law, adding that it would also go a long way in preventing the breakdown of law and order in all parts of the state.

The governor expressed confidence in the caliber, competence and experience of the members of the committee headed by Justice F.C. Obieze (rtd) and requested them to discharge their duties effectively and satisfactorily.

The commission is tasked to among other things determine immediate and remote cause of the disturbances and make appropriate recommendations that would ensure justice and lead to permanent resolution of the crisis.
