A tanker conveying petrol products has exploded around the Sango area of Ogun State on Friday morning.

“A tanker loaded with petroleum products as caught on fire currently on flames around Sango by ShopRite axis,” a source told The Guardian.

At least two people have been confirmed dead from the Friday morning accident, the News Agency of Nigeria reports quoting Bisi Kazeem, the spokesperson of the FRSC.

Kazeem said six other people were injured from the accident while 17 vehicles were damaged.

Consequently, vehicles plying the road have been notified to avoid the road.

Motorists and pedestrians have been advised to make use of Old Otta road or Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway as an alternative.
