TUC tasks Nigerians on communal co-existence

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has advocated collective and peaceful co-existence among all Nigerians to tackle the vices threatening Nigeria’s democracy.

It argued that if the country’s narrative must change, politicians, traditional rulers, youths, religious leaders and others should play a major role, as no religion preaches hatred, killings, violence, and embezzlement, among other vices.

In a statement to felicitate with Muslims on Eid-el-Kabir, noted that Nigeria, being a nation of very religious people, now allows religion to cause crises that claimed several thousands of lives.

President of TUC, Quadri Olaleye and General Secretary, Musa-Lawal Ozigi, stressed that the attitude portrays Nigerians as unserious and hypocritical people before the international community.

“This is not the best of times for us as a country, spiritual exercises are central to reconnect us to our creator,” they stressed.
