Troops kill four Boko Haram terrorists, arrest one in Yobe
Soldiers have killed four suspected Boko Haram terrorists, arresting one alive, while clearing remnants of fleeing insurgents in two border villages of Yobe State.
The troops had an hour of fierce gun battle with the terrorists, clearing their remnants in the border villages of Jororo and Tombaeji in Geidam Council areas.
Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman disclosed this yesterday in a statement issued to newsmen in Damaturu, the state capital.
According to Usman, “The fighting patrol team came into contact with Boko Haram terrorists’ elements around Gajire village, during which there was a firefight that lasted for about 15 minutes.
“The gallant troops overpowered the terrorists and killed four of them and captured one alive,” he said.
He said the troops also recovered two general-purpose machine guns, two Ak-47 rifles and 144 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition from the terrorists, including two brand new motorcycles.
