Traditional rulers pass vote of confidence in Okowa
The 63 traditional rulers in Anioma zone, under the Delta North Traditional Rulers’ Forum, have passed a vote of confidence in Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, commending his developmental strides in the state.
The rulers made the declaration at a reception in honour of the governor at the palace of the Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor.
In an address by the Ogene of Ibedeni, Jonathan Kainegide, the rulers hinged their decision on the governor’s people-oriented programmes.
They said the programmes have translated to all-round development of Delta and improved the living standards of the people. They also expressed support for the creation of state police.
Earlier, the Chief Host and Chairman of the forum, Efeizomor, noted that the body was set up to promote unity and cooperation among the people of Delta North, adding that it has provided a veritable platform for the people to speak with one voice on issues of common interests.
Responding, Okowa thanked the rulers for their support, particularly in promoting peace.
