Trade fair: LCCI guarantees good sanitation, security

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Saturday pledged good sanitation and security to visitors at the ongoing 29th Lagos International Trade Fair.

Mr Michael Olawale-Cole, the Chairman, Trade Promotion Board of the Chamber, said that adequate infrastructure and manpower had been put in place to avoid hitches at the fair.

Olawale-Cole said that there were over 70 mobile toilets and bins at various locations at the fair ground for visitors and exhibitors.

“Exhibitors and visitors are expected to utilise the facilities at no cost”.

The board chairman also assured visitors to the fair of adequate security to lives and properties throughout the fair.

He said that Officers from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, anti bomb squad personnel and State Security Service (SSS) were present to safeguard lives and properties.

Olawale-Cole said that activities at the fair were being monitored through a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) installed by the chamber.

“We are fully prepared. We have zero tolerance for indiscipline and crime.”

He said that the federal fire service and a medical team with ambulance service were also at the fair ground to attend to emergencies.

The chairman said that officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were available to ensure free flow of vehicular traffic in and out of the venues.

The fair, which started on Nov. 6, will end on Nov.15.
