Tolu Onalaja brings succour to widows, less-privileged in Lagos

To mark her 40th birthday, Tolu Onalaja has reached out to widows and other less-privileged in the society. She said she considered giving as the best way to celebrate her birthday, instead of throwing a party.

To mark her 40th birthday, Tolu Onalaja has reached out to widows and other less-privileged in the society. She said she considered giving as the best way to celebrate her birthday, instead of throwing a party.

The medical outreach tagged T Baby At 40 was targeted at 250 people in the community, including health talks on personal hygiene, regular hand washing, improved oral hygiene and need for regular visits to health centres. There was also q comprehensive medical and dental check up. Onalaja, popularly referred to as the Queen of Real Estate, gave N50,000 each to 40 widows, and also feted children at orphanage homes at Agbede community, Ikorodu, Lagos.

The celebrant said. “I feel fulfilled impacting lives. My passion is to ensure health becomes accessible to everyone, irrespective of their socio-economic status. ”One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Motunrayo Okunola, commended the celebrant for the initiative, which brought relief to people, who could not afford to pay hospital bills.

Another beneficiary, Mordi Christian, lauded the initiative as it gave him the opportunity to learn more about how to prevent common diseases. Also, Mrs. Olushola Gbadebo; a 53-year-old business woman, was particularly excited that the programme gave her the chance to receive expert opinion on her medical condition.
