Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has applauded Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar for rejecting outcome of the presidential polls.

Frank, in a statement yesterday said there was outright disregard for the rule of law and brazen impunity unleashed on the Nigerian electorate during the elections.

He alleged that state institutions like security agencies were used to maim and disenfranchise citizens in the guise of maintaining peace, while working to impose President Muhammadu Buhari on Nigerians.

“Indeed, the results as announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) can as best be described as a sham or scam to say the least.

“The electoral body is aware that it has been deeply compromised, evident in its obvious numerous gaffes, as captured from state collation centres, as well as complicity in its final election results,” he said.

He also berated INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu over what he described as “woeful and disgraceful performance” under his leadership.

He said Yakubu should bury his head in shame for allowing himself to be used as the pawn in disenfranchising the Nigerian people, while pretending to be ignorant of glaring irregularities as witnessed by all Nigerians.

Frank urged international observers, European Union (EU), United States (U.S.) and United Kingdom (UK) to make their findings on the general elections public, as it was done in Congo, instead of playing to the gallery and intelligence of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated victorious PDP candidates in the just concluded elections.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu yesterday in Asaba, Okowa said he was not surprised at their victory because the PDP has entrenched itself as a grassroots party with people-oriented programmes and policies, as well as life impacting projects geared towards building a stronger Delta.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I will like to congratulate our victorious party members on their successful election into the National Assembly,” he said.
